Give. Live. Lead.
In a way that matters more.

The Institute on Generosity exists to inspire and grow generosity. We envision a world where all Americans give, live and lead in a more meaningful way. This intentional inquiry drives greater impact for nonprofits and the individuals they serve, thus inspiring more generosity in givers and those around them.

We guide givers to move from transactional to transformational, and from good intentions to informed action.

Publications & Research

We conduct non-partisan research and polling to understand what inspires generosity, how people practice generosity and how it transforms people. We study generosity as a national unifying force, as well as its intersection with technology, neuroscience, psychology and leadership.

Learning Resources

We create actionable giving guides and tactical toolkits, as well as share knowledge and experiences.

The inaugural Generosity Symposium will convene principals representing a wide range of values, beliefs, interests, giving structures and industries to celebrate, elevate and amplify meaningful generosity.

The Symposium is not merely a gathering; it is an exceptional philanthropic forum, where ideas are tested, assumptions are challenged and generosity is examined not as aspiration, but as practice.

Women in Philanthropy Leadership Alliances

We cultivate deep and lasting relationships among women across industries and generations who lead with generosity. These small cohorts bring together groups of women who build trust, explore values and evolve as leaders through intentional connection, shared learning and mutual empowerment.
